It is very important to upload a profile picture before filing for e-nomination. Let’s see the importance of uploading a profile picture in the pf portal and also see the step-by-step procedure to upload a profile picture.
Why Upload Profile Picture for EPF e-nomination
- To add nominees in e-nomination. (without uploading a profile picture in epf member portal, pf member cannot add nominees)
- To avail of member’s pf benefits in case of sudden death (without uploading a profile picture in the epf member portal, it is very difficult for nominees to apply for pf member’s death claim)
Prerequisites for Uploading a Profile Picture in EPF Portal
- The photograph should be uploaded which is captured only from a digital camera.
- The photograph should be the size of 3.5cm x 4.5 cm before uploading.
- The uploaded image with the face should be visible clearly from 80% of the image with both ears.
- The image should be in either jpeg/jpg/png format.
- The image to be uploaded should not exceed more than 100 KB.
Bonus Tip
If you found your profile image size is more than 100 KB before uploading in EPF Portal.
- Don’t worry if you don’t have a physical scanner around you. You can easily scan your photo from your mobile in jpeg format using Kaagaz app from the Play Store
- You can then compress the image and also can make any image size to the required passport size (3.5cm x 4.5 cm) from the website Image Resize
- If you already have a scanned copy of passport size (3.5cm x 4.5 cm). You can compress it from the website Image Resize or from the mobile app QReduce Lite.

Step 3: Under the View menu, select PROFILE.

Step 5: Click on Browse to upload the profile picture.

Step 6: Make sure that you’re face and ears comes inside the circle. To adjust the face position click on the slider and fit the face & ears inside the circle.

Step 7: Once photo adjustment is made out first click on the Preview button, then click on the Upload Photograph button and finally confirm to upload your photo by clicking on the OK button.

Step 8: View you’re profile photo which is uploaded successfully in the Profile section. Also, update other details if it’s not mentioned under your profile section.

Update Other Details
- If your details like Permanent Address or any other details are left empty or not updated. Then update the required details.
- To update your details click on the pencil icon and update or edit for any changes.
