PF Claim Status Rejection Reason with Solution

As an employee seeing our claim status as rejected becomes frustrating at times. We will see here some of the common reasons for claim rejection and how to avoid them while applying for any PF claims.
So here are some common pf claim rejection reasons with the solution.
Reason 1:  PF Claim rejected due to “Name is not printed on the cheque”

Solution: As per the new EPFO rules if your name is not printed on the cheque. You can upload a bank passbook with your name. If in both the cheque and passbook, your name is not mentioned then visit the bank and ask for a new chequebook/passbook with your name printed on it. Now try to reapply the claim.
Reason  2: PF Claim rejected due to “Date of leaving wrong, contribution coming after leaving date”

Solution: The Date of Exit (Date of leaving the job) must be corrected. To correct the date of exit, the employee needs to fill out the Joint Declaration Form and submit it to the employer and epf office. In some cases, the employer will submit your joint declaration form to the pf office. Now try to reapply the claim.
Reason 3: PF rejected due to “Member Name as per KYC bank details is different”

Solution: Make sure your Name, Father’s Name, and Bank details are all same as on the bank passbook uploaded as it is mentioned while doing bank KYC with the EPF account. Now try to reapply the claim.
Reason 4: PF claim rejected due to “technical reason apply again”

Solution: This type of issue is normal and no need to worry about it. You just try to reapply for the claim.
Reason 5: PF claim rejected due to “10c rejected apply along with 19”

Solution: The above issue explains that if you’re applying for 10C first. The form 10C claim cannot be settled first. To resolve this issue you need to first fill the form 19 (claim settled) and then form 10C.
Reason 6: PF claim rejected due to “PDF not opened Re-Submit

Solution: This issue occurs while resizing the pdf and uploading it online. Make sure before uploading a pdf file it is easily open and then submit the claim form.
Reason 7: PF claim rejected due to “Insufficient balance”

Solution: This type of issue is normally seen after submitting an advance withdrawal claim form (Form 31) for illness reasons. Under the illness para, only the employee pf share can be withdrawn and not the employer’s share. In case, you’re unemployed for more than 2 months after leaving the job, then you can apply for form-19 to withdraw both employee and employer share.
If you’re continuing the job and your employee share is showing zero, then wait for next month once the pf contribution is accumulated in your pf balance to apply for advance pf withdrawal.
Reason 8: PF claim rejected due to “Bank Details are Incorrect”

Solution: This type of claim rejection is mostly due to the merging of banks which leads to a change in a bank account number and ifsc code. Kindly do the bank KYC with the newly merged bank account and get it approved by your employer and then resubmit the claim form.
